What you can expect while visiting the Valley of the Sun… Want that home with Horse privileges or a full covered arena or just a lot of acreage. Arizona does have horse properties. In fact, for horse lovers, there is a large event every year in North Scottsdale, The Arabian Horse Show. Many other shows or rodeos are just one of the many venues going on in Arizona. If you haven’t been to special roadhouse dining such as the Pinnacle Peak patio, Greasewood Flats or recently relocated Rawhide, you might want to make that visit. The nostalgic décor will bring you back to the old mining cowtown days.
While here in Arizona, you will be able to enjoy the weather (if visiting from September through May). Otherwise if visiting in June, July or August, you might want to be pool side, in a lake such as Lake Pleasant, Saguaro, Canyon lake, Roosevelt Lake or Bartlett Lake. Another important recommendation in the summer is to keep hydrated, wear sun block and become friends with any air conditioner. Some like it hot. Take a look at the weather channels or websites to view Arizona weather if planning a trip here. If here for a while in the summer, it’s always good to sometimes “Get out of the Heat” and take a weekend out of town. Drive up north to the beautiful pines only 1 ½ to 2 hours away. Enjoy the mountain views, beautiful desert terrain, natural wildlife, forest, take a pink jeep tour in Sedona, train ride to the Grand Canyon or a short commute to the snow(ski resorts) or ocean (within 2-5 hours away). Approximate distances to: Las Vegas is 5 hours away, Laughlin 4 ½ hours, San Diego 5 hours away, Los Angeles 6 -6 ½ hours away, Durango Colorado 6 hours away, Albuquerque 6 hours, Rocky Point Mexico (ocean) 4 ½ hours (Check with your insurance carrier to see if your car is covered in Mexico or obtain insurance for Mexico) . Many Arizona lakes and spectacular sites such as the Grand Canyon, Sedona, Lake Havasu are always great outdoor weekend ventures that Zoni’s (Arizonan’s) or visitor’s love to visit. Visitor’s come from all over to watch the major players of Baseball playing in Arizona for Spring Training and the Arizona Diamondbacks showing us competitive baseball fun. Don’t forget about the new Westgate center with the new Jobing.com Arena (home to the Phoenix Coyotes Ice Hockey team,) and The University of Phoenix Stadium, (home to the Phoenix Cardinals Football). If you like Baseball, there is a lot going on in down town Phoenix during game night or head out after the game to one of many night spots here in the valley (Biltmore/Camelback Corridor/Arcadia district, Tempe Town Lakes, Mill Avenue, Old Scottsdale, North Scottsdale (Kierland Commons, DC Ranch), Arrowhead (Peoria, AZ off Bell/101or 83rd Avenue/Bell), Westgate (Glendale/101) If you’re a golfer, you will most likely enjoy the golf in Arizona. And if you haven’t been here for the Phoenix Open in January every year, this is an event of a lifetime. Weather is gorgeous. The Barrett Jackson Car Auction is also in the early portion of the year.
